My Story:
From the beginning, my goal has always been to provide small businesses with websites that they are in full control of.
It was astounding to me how many businesses I saw with mediocre websites (that didn't accurately reflect their business) paying huge amounts of money to an agency to keep them updated.
They had no access to their site, or if they did, it was set up on too complex of a platform for the average person to edit - one that wasn't at all necessary for a basic small business website.
I wanted business owners to know that there was an easier way. A less expensive way. One that actually met their business where it was at - and didn't add on and charge for 10 million features that their business was never going to need.
Websites don't need to be complex, confusing, and overwhelming in order to be professional, beautiful and attract great clients.

After 5 years of freelance marketing, copywriting, and web design, Courtney Ballantyne founded Essence Website Design with a mission to help even more entrepreneurs get websites that work for their business.
Courtney is passionate about helping small businesses thrive, and works to get to the heart of each business that she works with. Courtney has worked with clients from across Saskatchewan, as well as from Finland, The United Kingdom, California, Alberta, Ontario, Michigan, Florida, and more. When she’s not making websites you can find her barefoot outside at the family farm, making creations in her woodshop, learning jui jitsu, or playing some tunes on the bass guitar.
